Why it matters
The house decides the detail
A 1920s house in Hyde Park or Clifton is not the same job as a 2005 build in Mason or West Chester. Older homes tend to mean steeper pitch, more complicated roof geometry, cornice and trim detail that has to be worked around, and decking that has been through a lot more freeze-thaw.
Newer subdivisions are usually simpler geometry and straightforward hung gutter — where the money is in getting ventilation and flashing right rather than in fighting the structure.
Both are fine work. They just aren't the same work.
