  • How do you handle soft decking if you find it mid-job, and how is that communicated?
  • What does end-of-day cleanup look like, including nail sweep?

A contractor who answers these with specifics — not generalities — understands what a tight, older urban lot actually demands. One who redirects to price or timeline is telling you something about their priorities.
